Agrowill Group finished sowing winter crops

AB Agrowill Group, one of the largest agricultural investment and development companies in the Baltic States, announced that the sowing of winter crops in the principal farmlands of the group of establishments of the company was finished for this autumn.
In order to make use of the warm and sufficiently humid autumn and to finish sowing in the optimal time, the establishments of the company rented additional equipment to complement the equipment owned by them to perform work. Almost 5,000 hectares of farmlands of agricultural establishments have been sowed with winter crops.
“Agrowill Group continues seeking good agrarian results. Our experience shows that the timely sowing of winter crops yields the best harvest. The sowing lasts less than a month – from the end of August to the last weeks of September. Under unfavourable weather conditions work cannot always be completed in time; therefore, this year we pooled our efforts and achieved the desired result. Crop production is currently one of the most promising fields of agriculture, so we predict that next year our hard work will yield benefits,” Vladas Bagavičius, Chairman of the Board of Agrowill Group, said.
Having restructured corporate activities and successfully implementing the set strategy, Agrowill Group has successfully started this year. The profit of the company for the first six months amounted to LTL 2.56 million, while the turnover was LTL 12.9 million. The second half of the year is expected to yield more profits for Agrowill Group, as the principal crop production costs are sustained during the first six months, while products are sold during the second half of the year due to the seasonal characteristics of agricultural business. Moreover, this year, just like last year, the market prices of cereals are sufficiently high.
