Agrowill Group has expanded its farmland area by 15 per cent
Agrowill Group, one of the largest agricultural companies in the Baltic states, has expanded its farmland area by 15 % this year in order to increase volumes of the managed land. The group of companies will cultivate a total of some 22,000 hectares of land in 2012. It will continue to grow grain, rapeseeds and fodder cultures, indispensible for operation of the Group members.
„Concerning the areas of controlled agricultural land, we are the largest agricultural company in Lithuania. A consistent implementation of our plans to expand farmland areas allows increasing volumes of crop production business, also receiving more income and increasing amounts of sales. Larger farms could operate more efficiently, reducing a prime cost of products. As grain demand and price in an international market does not reduce, cultivation of grain remains one of the most promising and profitable spheres of agriculture. Marius Zutautas, the Manager of Agro Management Team, affiliate to Agrowill Group AB, which was established to provide management services of agricultural property states that some important work of land consolidation within integral areas, also expansion of farmland were performed earlier this year.
„This year areas were expanded when purchasing new land and retrieving one leased. As a term of Rental contract was over, Agroconcern Group has returned 2000 ha of land it was using under a rental agreement. Expansion for 500 ha has been gained by getting new land; additional 340 ha have been purchased from the state“, - M.Zutautas, the Manager of Agro Management Team, tells.
