Agrowill Group’s partnership with global dairy industry leader DeLaval to ensure higher efficiency of dairy companies

On 8 December 2008, Agrowill Group, the largest agricultural investment and development company in the Baltic states, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with DeLaval, a global milk industry leader. Cooperation between the companies will create more favourable conditions for boosting the efficiency of the Group’s dairy companies by up to 40% in a year and a half.

Under the strategic cooperation agreement, DeLaval will share its latest experience in effective application of animal care solutions with the agricultural companies of Agrowill Group and will supply up-to-date animal care, hygiene and cleaning, feeding, manure disposal, automatic milking and milk cooling equipment in a centralised manner. Ergonomic organisation of animal care (conveniently arranged animal facilities and maintenance equipment) will facilitate reduction of care time by a quarter and more economical use of human resources. This will help to cut the cost of milk and strengthen the competitiveness of products.

Speaking about cooperation prospects, Mindaugas Juozaitis, General Manager of Agrowill Group, said: “Partnership with a world milk industry leader is part of implementation of Agrowill Group’s operating strategy. By taking this step, we expect to achieve the highest efficiency in the entire Baltic dairy sector.” According to the head of the company, higher milk yields and effective use of products can only be achieved by creating favourable and comfortable conditions for animals and retaining the highest quality in all stages of animal care, from birth, breeding, keeping and feeding to effective organisation of the process of milking and retention of products obtained.

Solutions applied by DeLaval facilitate consistent growth of milk yields by ensuring a high quality of milk. Average annual milk yields at the dairy companies controlled by Agrowill Group currently make up 5 tons (Lithuania’s average is 4.7 tons). In a year and a half, using DeLaval experience, this figure at Agrowill Group companies is planned to be increased to 7 tons, retaining a high quality of milk.
